Follow the instructions below if you want to prorate rent when initially renting a unit to a customer.
You will need to create a customer account in order to rent a unit to that person.
Search for the customer you want to rent a unit to. Click on their name.
Click the Rent Unit button at the top of the customer's page.
Prorating options are near the bottom of the screen. If you have a default setting, it will automatically populate in the field.
Select a prorating option from the dropdown menu. Each option is explained further below. The most common prorating option is Prorate this month and bill full billing cycle starting next month.

Custom Prorating: Select this option if you have a charge other than rent, such as insurance, that also needs to be prorated. You can customize the prorated price and also insert a prorated insurance premium.
