If you are renting a unit to a customer for the first time and want to prorate their rent you will need to take the following steps: 1- Select the start date for the billing cycle. 2- Enter a deposit amount and check the box if you want to charge them for the deposit right now. 3- Enter in the prorated amount in the prorated field and make sure the "Charge prorated amount" check box is checked. To double check what is happening, there are instructions at the bottom that will explain what is happening. Double check those instructions before hitting the "rent now" button.
